A Feather's Worth

Shirin is one of five fifteen year old girls, one daughter of 46, and one child of 78. Her father is Patron of the 7th high house of Pressia, and he currently has 8 wives,
though Shirin and her siblings are of 11 mothers. Shirin's father believes that a woman's value is her beauty and grace, and his greatest pride is his daughters, who's
skill in dance is known throughout the surrounding Kingdoms.

Shirin, like many of her siblings, goes completely unnoticed by her father unless something goes amiss to draw his attention. She wishes she could stand out among
her siblings, and not just be another face in a sea of dancers. But when Shirin sprains her ankle learning dances her father has not sanctioned, she gains his attention in
the wrong way. Her luck seems to spiral down and down, and everything that could possibly go wrong, does.

Finding herself separated from her siblings and set to be married off as the second wife to one of her father's political connections, she falls into a despair. One night
as she cries, a small bird offers her a single feather from its wing and tells her it will be her freedom. She accepts the gift, and is led to a strange span of castle
ruins high in the mountains.

But she is not the only one to call this sanctuary home. A strange beast lurks in the shadows, and as black feathers sprout from her hair, Shirin believes she may
be turning into a beast herself. Perhaps she shouldn't have run away. It begins to seem her new found freedom is just another prison... and now with nowhere left
to run, how will she ever be able to escape?
